This letter from an unnamed prisoner to someone named Johanna details the situation at Walpole during the lock-up.

Prisoners have high morale, but are tense regarding what would happen in the event of the old guards returning. However, the trainee guards get along very well with prisoners.

There are inconsistencies in the invisible ink-wrist stamping procedure at the prison entrance that are causing some observers to be denied exit.
